Imira Sells Tangerine & Cow

BARCELONA: Imira Entertainment has wrapped up a number of deals for the Normaal Animation-produced Tangerine & Cow, including a pickup from Z@PP of the Netherlands.

In Spain, Cartoon Network took on the pay-TV rights, while TV Catalunya went for free-TV rights for Catalunya. Portugal’s RTP and Channel 5 in Lithuania also acquired the show. Al Sayyar did a deal for TV and home-entertainment rights for the Middle East. Further home-entertainment and rights deals for licensing and merchandising have been signed with Kids Planet in the Netherlands and Belgium and with Pourquoi Pas in France.

Imira Entertainment and Normaal Animation have previously signed international deals with HBO Family in Asia, YLE Finland, Canal+ Poland, RTBF Belgium and TSR in Switzerland.

Christophe Goldberger, the head of distribution and marketing at Imira Entertainment, said: “This is a truly unique series and very funny. Comedy shows are high up the wish-list for many buyers so Tangerine & Cow is a perfect fit. These sales and second-season commission by France Televisions underscore the popularity of the series.”
