MarVista Strikes Deals for TV Movies

LOS ANGELES: MarVista Entertainment has licensed a range of TV movies, including Chatterbox, to international broadcasters, and will be presenting a lineup of eight new films for buyers at MIPTV.

Noga Television acquired the teen movie Chatterbox for Israel, while TV Barrandov in the Czech Republic went for the thrillers Crimes of the Past, House Under Siege and Nowhere to Hide, along with the comedy Will You Merry Me. Vitaya picked up the drama Eva, the romantic comedy Falling Star and Tricks of a Woman for Flemish-speaking Belgium.

MarVista will debut eight new movies at MIPTV, among them the disaster film Meteor Storm. There’s also the Lifetime original movie Deadly Honeymoon, the holiday themed A Golden Christmas and thriller Kidnapped: 48 Hours of Terror. The additional movies in the lineup, announced earlier this month, are the family movie Mandie and the Secret Tunnel, the romantic comedy Lost in Love, the drama Another Harvest Moon and the comedy/drama Under New Management.

“MarVista has become well known as a provider of a diverse range of movies to fulfill the scheduling needs of international broadcasters, providing compelling entertainment for their viewers,” commented Fernando Szew, the CEO of MarVista Entertainment. “For this year’s MIPTV, we have once again amassed a broad slate of star-driven movies with well-drawn story lines that will have strong appeal to viewers worldwide.”
