CBBC Renews Sarah Jane Adventures

LONDON: CBBC has commissioned two further seasons of its hit Doctor Who spin-off The Sarah Jane Adventures.

The two additional seasons—24 half-hour episodes—will see all new adventures for the intrepid young investigative journalist and her gang of young sidekicks. Created by Russell T Davies, the show launched in 2007. The fourth series, set to air this autumn, will again star Elisabeth Sladen as Sarah Jane. It will go into production in Cardiff later this month. Season five will air in 2011.

CBBC controller Damian Kavanagh said in announcing the renewal: "It is been a huge ratings and critical success on CBBC and we hope our viewers are going to be hooked on Sarah Jane‘s action-packed adventures for some time to come."
