Discovery HD Heads to India

NEW DELHI: Discovery Networks Asia-Pacific has scored a carriage deal for Discovery HD with the DTH platform Sun Direct, bringing the total number of channels it operates in India to six.

The 24-hour channel is rolling out this month as a premium, ad-free service that features the highest quality content from across Discovery Networks’ most popular channels, as well as select exclusive content. “I am delighted to announce the launch of Discovery HD in India, one of the world’s most vibrant media markets," said Tom Keaveny, the executive VP and managing director of Discovery Networks Asia-Pacific.
