JimJam Grows Asian Presence

LONDON: JimJam continues to expand across Asia with a launch in Thailand and a new carriage deal in Indonesia with Indovision, coinciding with a refresh of the preschool channel’s on-air look.

The channel launched in Thailand last week as a 24-hour service on Cable Thai Holding, expanding its reach by an estimated 500,000 subscribers initially and expected to increase to 1 million by the end of the year. Following a launch in Indonesia on Telkomvision last month, the channel now heads to Indovision, reaching 750,000 subscribers. JimJam’s new on-air refresh rolls out internationally starting today on all its feeds.

Wayne Dunsford, JimJam’s general manager, said: “Our aim for JimJam’s new on-air look is to create an enhanced, vivid and stimulating viewing experience, which young children and their carers will be able to share and enjoy together, and which will complement the channel’s high-quality and hugely popular programming lineup.”

Maria Kassova, the regional director for the Asia Pacific at Chello Zone, commented: “We are extremely pleased with the rate at which JimJam has expanded in Asia and hope to continue roll out in the region throughout the year. Cable Thai Holding and Indovision are both strong DTH platforms to host JimJam and we look forward to reaching our full potential in Asia.”
