ProSiebenSat.1 Group Sets Up Red Arrow

MUNICH: ProSiebenSat.1 Group has established a new holding company, Red Arrow Entertainment Group, which will house existing content divisions, such as SevenOne International, as well as acquire and launch production companies and seek out development partnerships as it looks to boost its international activities.

The European broadcasting group is aiming to increase its international production, program distribution and development activities. Red Arrow intends to acquire and set up television production companies across and external to the group’s 12-country footprint. It will also enter into development partnerships with creatives worldwide and invest in formats and scripted shows with strong international appeal and sales potential. Red Arrow will consist of production outfits Producers at Work, Magic Flight Film and Redseven Entertainment; the talent agency Redseven Artists; SevenOne International; and the development partnerships with Dick de Rijk and Phil Gurin. Additions to the portfolio are expected within the next six months. Red Arrow will be led by group managing director Jan Frouman, with directors Jens Richter (international distribution), Michael Schmidt (creative operations and business development) and John Jongerden (finance and operations). Richter will retain his role as managing director of SevenOne International and Frouman will also continue as executive VP of group content acquisitions at ProSiebenSat.1.

Thomas Ebeling, ProSiebenSat.1 Group’s CEO,  commented: “We believe it is strategically essential to invest in and expand our content creation and distribution activities. With Red Arrow, we have formally established these businesses as key revenue pillars within our group. We expect Red Arrow and its growing portfolio of assets to provide valuable content to both our own channels and the broader market, and to further diversify the revenue sources of the ProSiebenSat.1 Group.”
