TV Globo Expands Presence in Central America

SÃO PAULO: TV Globo Internacional has expanded its signal in Central America, with a premiere on Cable & Wireless Panama, adding to its existing carriage on Cable Onda, Sky and Viva TV.

The deal also includes the programming from another Globo Organization channel, PFC (Premiere Futebol Clube), with exclusive Brazilian sports content, which will be launched for the first time in the country. Cable & Wireless Panama is part of the British group Cable & Wireless, which already offers mobile phone services, landline telephone services and Internet in the country. They have now launched the TV digital offer, in which both Globo Organization’s channels will be available. “We are very well aware about the importance of the company in the country and I am certain that we will have a significant coverage in the region,” said Marcelo Spinola, the director of TV Globo Internacional.

Elsewhere in Central America, TV Globo Internacional is present in 11 countries, including Costa Rica, Nicaragua and El Salvador, among others.
