SCI FI to Air Stargate Franchise

LONDON: Universal Networks International has acquired Stargate Universe (SGU) for SCI FI Channel in Poland, Romania, the Balkans, Latin America, Benelux and in German-speaking Europe via the Tele München Group.

The deal with MGM Worldwide Television Distribution will see the series premiere on SCI FI in Poland, Romania and Balkans on January 21, 2010. Stargate Universe debuted on Syfy in the U.S., and also airs in Canada on SPACE, in the U.K. on Sky1 and in Australia on the SCI FI pay-TV platform.

Colin McLeod, the managing director for Central and Eastern Europe for Universal Networks International, said, "We’re thrilled to have secured the rights to premiere SGU exclusively on the SCI FI channel in Poland, Romania and the Balkans.
