ID Takes Parthenon’s Mystery Files

SILVER SPRING: Investigation Discovery (ID) has picked up the U.S. rights for the first season of Mystery Files from Parthenon Entertainment with the option to acquire future seasons.

Filmed in HD, Mystery Files features dramatic reconstructions of some of history’s most legendary unanswered questions. The series investigates the truth behind the legends of some of history’s most intriguing figures, including King Arthur, Robyn Hood, Cleopatra and Anastasia. The 13×30-minute show will launch on ID in early 2010.

“Parthenon Entertainment’s Mystery Files is the perfect example of how Investigation Discovery is expanding the scope of the network’s investigation programming by delivering historical stories that reveal answers to some of the most famous mysteries of all time,” said Henry Schleiff, the president and general manager of Investigation Discovery. “With access to previously undiscovered source material and new technology, Mystery Files uncovers the stories behind some of history’s most iconic figures in a series guaranteed to both inform and entertain our viewers.”

“This is one of our most ambitious series to date and it’s great to be working with Investigation Discovery on Mystery Files, which was produced under the leadership of former head of documentaries at Darlow Smithson Productions, Richard Sattin,” commented Danny Tipping, the director of production at Parthenon Entertainment.
