Yes Men Get Babelgum Channel

LONDON/NEW YORK: The Yes Men, a group of activists that stage pranks and hoaxes targeting politicians and corporations, have launched a dedicated channel on Babelgum.

The group’s most recent documentary, The Yes Men Fix The World is currently rolling out theatrically in the U.S. It features  Andy Bichlbaum and Mike Bonanno, so-called "culture-jamming activists" who practice what they call “identity correction,” by posing as official spokespersons of organizations ranging from ExxonMobil to the World Trade Organization (WTO). The Babelgum Yes Men channel will feature videos of behind-the-scenes planning, coverage of past stunts and new campaigns that will unfold throughout 2010. The channel debuts with several stunts recently executed in New York, including a fake press conference involving the U.S. Chamber of Commerce and its stance on climate change.

“We are very pleased to be able to give the world a backstage view of these important art and political statements in the making," said Laurence Billiet, the publisher of the Babelgum Music Channel. “We are already looking forward to riding in the sidecar, with cameras trained of course, as the Yes Men take on more powerful causes and organizations in the year to come.”

"We are a band of pranksters who work to expose the truth and hold naughty corporations accountable," added The Yes Men. “The Yes Men and Babelgum ‘chew’ up society’s wrong-doers to cause change and inspire action so check out Babelgum to keep an eye on all our misadventures and see more exclusive material out of the closet!"
