Australian In-Flight Deal for Sesame Street

NEW YORK: Australia’s Qantas Airlines has signed a deal to broadcast six special Sesame Street videos, available free of charge to all transpacific passengers.

These videos feature such Sesame Street characters as Elmo, Abby, Cookie Monster, Bert, Ernie and Oscar. The programs will begin their rotation on all Qantas flights December 1, and conclude on November 30, 2010. The six videos to be featured include Being Green, in which the Sesame Street crew host an Earth-A-Thon; Elmo & Friends: Tale of Adventure, which consists of three stories; and Dinosaurs, where Elmo learns more about the prehistoric creatures.

“Sesame Workshop is committed to creating quality content and ensuring it is available to families wherever they are,” said Scott Chambers, Sesame Workshop’s senior VP of worldwide media distribution. “We are thrilled to be working with Qantas to make traveling a more enjoyable experience for children and their caregivers.”

“Qantas Airways has always dedicated themselves to providing exceptional customer service. We couldn’t be more pleased to be included in their in-flight program offering,” added Isabelle Begin, the president of Skeye, one of Sesame Workshop’s distribution representatives.
