Buscemi, Tucci Firm, Lionsgate Score HBO, TBS Pilot Orders

SANTA MONICA: Olive Productions, the production company set up by Steve Buscemi, Stanley Tucci and Wren Arthur, has scored pilot orders from TBS and HBO, with the projects to be co-produced by Lionsgate, with which it has a first-look deal.

The untitled HBO one-hour drama, written by Stu Zicherman (Six Degrees, What About Brian), stars Tucci as a brilliant and one-time powerful politician struggling to rebuild his entire life after being brought down by a scandal.  Good and Evel for TBS is an animated half-hour family comedy from Glenn Eichler (The Colbert Report, Daria) featuring the voice talents of Tucci and Buscemi as twin brothers. Joining Lionsgate and Olive as producer on the project is The Gotham Group.

“In just a few short months, our collaboration with Stanley, Steve and Wren has already yielded an exciting development slate and these first two script orders are just the beginning,” said Barbara Wall, Lionsgate’s executive VP of television. “These projects typify the kind of innovative programming that has come to define the Lionsgate brand.”
