Beauty and the Geek Debuts Strong in Australia

LOS ANGELES: The Australian adaptation of the Twentieth Century Fox Television Distribution format Beauty and the Geek scored high ratings in its debut on Seven Network. 

The series, which debuted on October 8, averaged 1.1 million total viewers and ranked as the night’s number one program across all national networks among women 16 to 39 and 18 to 49. Beauty and the Geek Australia was the number two program of the night among the 16-to-39 set, as well as those 18 to 49, men 16 to 39 and men 18 to 49. The show delivered a younger-skewing audience for Seven Network, with total viewership comprised of 47 percent of individuals 16 to 39 and 60 percent 18 to 49. 

Beauty and the Geek has 17 local versions to date. Other licensed territories include Belgium, Bulgaria, Colombia, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Iceland, Italy, Mexico, the Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, Russia, Turkey and the U.K. Preproduction is under way in India as well.
