FME Inks DVD Agreement with Revelation Films

LONDON: FremantleMedia Enterprises (FME) is to take on the exclusive rights to distribute DVDs for Revelation Films’ TV and film titles in the U.K. and Eire.

The first title to be released by FME under the new deal is At Last Smith & Jones Volume 1, the first four series of the comedy sketch show starring Mel Smith and Griff Rhys Jones. The title will be released this month, with others to follow shortly thereafter. Some of the key titles in the Revelation catalogue include the BBC prime-time hit Goodnight Sweetheart, MTV’s Dirty Sanchez, Discovery Channel’s Miami Ink, ITV’s drama Wire In The Blood, the football gangster program Hooligan, the children’s series Tomorrow People from the ’70s and A Voyage Round My Father.

Pete Kalhan, the senior VP of home entertainment and archive at FME, commented: “We’re continuously looking for strong DVD labels to work with and Revelation certainly fits that bill. They’re one of the best indie publishers in the U.K., they have a fantastic catalogue of titles and we’re delighted to be working with them.”

Commercial director for Revelation, Trevor Drane, said, “FME have been a key partner of ours since the very start of our DVD activity. We are delighted to have reached this new agreement with the company. They have an excellent track record in third-party sales and distribution and we look forward to being a growing part of that ongoing success.”
