PGS Drums Up Sales on Little Prince

PARIS: PGS Entertainment has concluded a raft of deals on the new animated series based on the classic novel The Little Prince of Saint Exupéry, with Rai, France 3 and ABC Australia among those on board.

Currently in production, the 52×30-minute HD CGI series is a collaboration of Method Animation, the Saint Exupéry Estate, Sony Pictures Home Entertainment, La Fabrique d’Images, DQ Entertainment, ARD and RAI Fiction, with worldwide representation handled by PGS, excluding Asia (Sony Pictures Home Entertainment) and South Asia (DQ Entertainment.) Worldwide home video (excluding North America) will be handled by Sony Pictures Home Entertainment.

PGS has shored up deals with France 3 (France), WDR (Germany), Rai (Italy), TV2 (Denmark), TV2 (Norway), ABC (Australia), MTV3 (Finland) and TSR (Switzerland). Philippe Soutter, the managing director of PGS Entertainment, commented, “The Little Prince is one of the most well-known children’s characters and it is recognized as the second most-translated book after The Bible. We are so pleased to have the opportunity to present such an international icon and amazing, evergreen TV series to our broadcast partners, and we are looking forward to seeing it picked up in many more territories."
