ITV Names Interim CEO

LONDON: John Cresswell, ITV plc’s COO, is taking on the position of interim chief executive at the British broadcasting group and will step down from the organization once a successor has been found.

Cresswell becomes interim CEO once a successor has been found to Michael Grade in the chairman’s seat, the search for which is ongoing. Sir Crispin Davis and Sir Michael Bishop have both recently confirmed to the nominations committee of the Board that they are not candidates. The first task for the new chairman will be to appoint a new chief executive. Former Sky chief Tony Ball had been the frontrunner for the CEO position; those negotiations were called off a few weeks ago.
