Ex-PorchLight Exec Sets Up New Venture

CANNES: Opus Distribution makes its debut at MIPCOM, led by former PorchLight Entertainment worldwide distribution chief Ken DuBow, with four new projects for the international market.

“I saw an opening in the international marketplace for intelligently budgeted movies with compelling stories and name casts that needed the marketing acumen to put them over the top," said DuBow of his new venture. On offer at MIPCOM are My Girlfriend’s Boyfrind with Alyssia Milano; and Prodigy with Colin Ferguson and Keir Gilchrist, which has also sold to Viasat/Scandinavia, Eagle/Mideast, Albrije/Latin America and Fairmead/Africa. Through Opus, DuBow is also pre-selling two thrillers, Locked Away and Bus Stop Conspiracy, produced by Seven Palms.

DuBow was most recently president of worldwide distribution at PorchLight Entertainment. His extensive media career also includes stints as executive VP of worldwide at First Look Studios and president and CEO of Modern Entertainment.
