4Kids TV Unveils VOD Plans, Fall Season Slate

NEW YORK, July 25: 4Kids Entertainment has unveiled the fall
slate for its 4Kids TV block on FOX in
the U.S., and has announced plans to roll out a video-on-demand channel on
Comcast this August.

Launching on Comcast
ON DEMAND in August, the 4Kids VOD channel will offer up Yu-Gi-Oh!,
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Sonic
X
, Kirby and Winx Club, among others, delivering 10 hours of programming refreshed every two
weeks. The 4Kids TV VOD Channel will launch with never-before-seen episodes of Yu-Gi-Oh!
Capsule Monsters
, and five new episodes of Teenage
Mutant Ninja Turtles
. The service will also offer up episodes of G.I.
Joe
, Ultimate Muscle and WMAC Masters.

Norman Grossfeld, the president of 4Kids Production, noted,
"VOD brings a Web-like immediacy to television that gives viewers
quick-and-easy access to the programming they want, when they want it. Given
the platform's ability to refresh programming without the limitations and time
constraints of a fixed program schedule, viewers are certain to return to the
channel often for fresh programming options, giving 4Kids a loyal audience that
is primed for our programming and promotional efforts.”

The 4Kids TV linear
offering, meanwhile, celebrating its fifth year on FOX, will showcase four new
series: Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Fast Forward (premiering July 29), where the turtles find
themselves in the future; Viva Pinata (premiering September 9), produced in partnership with Microsoft and
Rare Ltd; Yu-Gi-Oh! Capsule Monsters
(premiering September 9), continuing the adventures of Yugi and his friends;
and Chaotic (premiering September
30), based on the new trading card game launching next spring.
