3rd & Bird! Scores Treehouse Slot

NEW YORK: BBC Worldwide has sold the preschool series 3rd & Bird!, created by Josh Selig and produced by his company, Little Airplane Productions, to Canada’s Treehouse.

Aimed at 3- to 5-year-olds, the series will premiere on Treehouse on Monday, September 7, airing weekdays at 6:25 p.m., Saturdays at 8:30 a.m. and Sundays at 5 p.m. 3rd & Bird! is created in photo-puppetry animation, and revolves around Samuel and Muffin Lovebird and their friend Rudy, who live, learn and play in the branches of an old tree. The show is filled with music and songs, with each episode following as Samuel and Muffin encounter a problem relevant to the preschool age.

Selig said: “I am really thrilled and excited that 3rd & Bird! has found a home on Treehouse. It is such a wonderful channel and, as any preschooler knows, birds do belong in trees!”

Fisher-Price holds the master toy license for 3rd & Bird! and is developing preschool, infant and toddler toys for the series such as plastic figurines, vehicles, playsets and plush.
