315 Million Euros Financing for Setanta

LONDON, December 11: Setanta Sport Holdings has received 315
million euros in financing from Doughty Hanson & Co, Goldman Sachs
International, Davy Stockbrokers and Adams Street Partners.

The funding, subject to regulatory clearance in Ireland, will be used to
cover content, operating and marketing costs as the company gears up for the
launch of its new services in the U.K. These will include Setanta Golf in
January 2007 and coverage of the FA Premier League from August 2007.

Doughty Hanson and Benchmark Capital Europe will be Setanta’s largest
institutional shareholders following the completion of the deal. The balance of
the equity is held by the founders, management and other financial investors.

Leonard Ryan, the co-founder and joint chief executive of Setanta,
noted, “This has been a
fantastic year for Setanta. Not only have we secured top-flight sports content,
but we are now fully funded to realize our ambitions to be the premier sports
channel in the U.K. across all platforms. We are delighted to have signed
funding agreements with Goldman Sachs and Doughty Hanson which, together with
Benchmark’s support, will allow us to build up our subscriber base and offer
the best games to sports fans.”
