DISCOP Istanbul 2016 Drew 700-Plus Participants


LOS ANGELES: DISCOP Istanbul, co-organized by Basic Lead and Globus Fairs, hosted 709 participants at the International Convention and Exhibition Center in Turkey last week.

The sixth edition of the market drew 102 television content sales organizations and 402 programming executives, who were on hand to acquire films, TV series, adaptation rights and more. For this edition, the organizers expanded the human resources and onsite-matchmaking assistance to increase the number of meetings among attendees.

“Despite recent regional geopolitical tensions, this sixth edition of DISCOP Istanbul continued to underline the strong strategic role the market plays as a major hub for global television business, as well as the vital importance of the expert, pro-active meetings organization offered by Basic Lead during the event,” said Patrick Zuchowicki Jucaud, the CEO of Basic Lead.

Dates for the 2017 edition of DISCOP Istanbul will be announced soon, following a survey to be undertaken in the coming days.
