2009 NATPE Board Announced

LOS ANGELES: Kevin Beggs, the president of television programming and production at Lionsgate, will continue to serve as the chair of the National Association of Television Program Executives (NATPE) for 2009, while new appointments have been made to its board of directors. 

Roma Khanna, the president of global networks and digital initiatives for NBC Universal International, has completed her term as co-chair, and will serve on NATPE’s executive committee. Newly elected members of the 2009 NATPE board are Lisa Berger, the executive VP of original programming and series development for E! at Comcast Entertainment Group; Sean Compton, the senior VP of programming and entertainment for Tribune Broadcasting Company; Chris Grant, the managing director and head of worldwide distribution for ShineReveille International; and Phil Gurin, the president of The Gurin Company. Other new members include Keith Hindle, the executive VP of licensing for the Americas at FremantleMedia Enterprises; Jordan Levin, the CEO of Generate; Gary Lico, the president and CEO of CABLEready Corporation; Neal Sabin, the executive VP of Weigel Broadcasting; and Kathy Styponias, the general manager of the media and entertainment group and entertainment and devices division at Microsoft Corporation. 

Returning to the NATPE board are Chris Coelen, the CEO of RDF USA and Pangea Management Group; Tony DiSanto, the executive VP of series development and programming for MTV; John Ferriter, the senior VP and worldwide head of nonscripted television for William Morris Agency; and Jordan Hoffner, the director of content partnerships for YouTube. Meanwhile, Diane Robina, the president of emerging networks for Comcast; Lori H. Schwartz, the senior VP and director of emerging media for Interpublic Emerging Media Lab; Doug Scott, the executive director of branded content and entertainment for Ogilvy Mather Worldwide; and Donna Speciale, the president of investment and activation for MediaVest Worldwide are all set to return. As are Andy Stabile of the Creative Artists Agency; Fernando Szew, the CEO of MarVista Entertainment; Jon Vlassopulos, the CEO of Moderati/General Manager; and Barry Wallach, the president of NBC Universal Domestic Television Distribution.

The 2009 NATPE executive committee includes Feldman, Khanna and Beggs, along with Stephen J. Davis, the CEO of the Family Entertainment Group; Emerson Coleman, the VP of programming for Hearst-Argyle Television; Bruce David Klein, the president and executive producer for Atlas Media Corporation; Jim Packer, the president of worldwide TV distribution for Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Studios; and Lew Klein, the president of the NATPE Educational Foundation.
