SOMERVILLE: Ride, a new live-action show from Breakthrough Entertainment, has secured a publishing agreement with Candlewick Entertainment.

Candlewick snapped up the global rights in all languages to a series of books for young readers based on the Ride TV show. The books were acquired by Joan Powers, group editorial director of Candlewick and Walker Entertainment, from Breakthrough. They will be released in September with Ride: Kit Meets Covington. Two additional titles will follow in spring 2018.

Ride centers on an American teenager who moves to England with her father after he lands a job as the equestrian supervisor at The Covington Academy. The show premiered in Canada on YTV in September 2016 and in the U.K. on Nickelodeon in November 2016. It debuted on Nickelodeon in the U.S. earlier this week.

“We are thrilled to be working with the amazing team at Candlewick on this new book series,” said Joan Lambur of Breakthrough Entertainment, the executive producer of Ride. “We are confident that young readers will love following Kit on her adventures in the English countryside.”
