USA Network Adds New Scripted Original

NEW YORK: Adding to its roster of original series, USA Network has picked up the cop show Common Law, with 11 episodes being shot in New Orleans.

Michael Ealy (The Good Wife, Californication), Warren Kole (The Chicago Code, 24) and Jack McGee (The Fighter, Rescue Me) lead the cast of the new show. Ealy and Kole play two cops who despise each other. Together, they were part of LAPD’s dream team on the homicide squad, but their constant bickering got in the way. The two are sent to couples therapy by their captain, played by McGee, to resolve their conflicts.

The show is from CBS Television Studios and Junction Entertainment. Executive producers are Cormac Wibberley and Marianne Wibberley, along with Jon Turteltaub and Craig Sweeny.

"When CBS Television Studios sent us the script of Common Law, we immediately fell in love with the writing, the characters and the premise," said USA co-presidents Jeff Wachtel and Chris McCumber. "We’re very lucky to have the Wibberleys, Jon and Craig guiding the process on this show; and with Michael and Warren, we have two stars who bring out the best in each other."
