Univision to Air Weight-Loss Competition Series

NEW YORK: Univision has announced its newest reality program for the 2011-2012 broadcast season, Si Se Puede, which comes from Dan Broome of The Biggest Loser and Emilio Estefan.

The series is a fitness and weight loss competition targeted toward Hispanic families who want to lose weight and change their lives; it is slated to air on Univision Network in early 2012. Si Se Puede will be co-produced by Estefan Film, Television Productions and Broome’s 25/7 Productions.

Si Se Puede is another example of the powerful, exclusive entertainment programming Univision brings to Hispanic America,” said Cesar Conde, the president of Univision Networks. “This program featuring real life challenges will connect and entertain families like never before.”

Broome commented: “I’m thrilled to be making this ground-breaking series with Univision, that will not only be fun and entertaining, but will also be motivational and hopefully inspire millions of people around the world."

Estefan added: “I’m proud to partner with Univision and Dave Broome to produce television that will promote healthier and happier families especially at a time when obesity amongst Latinos is at an all time high. It’s been my life work to help others fulfill their dreams and I know this show will change the lives and fulfill the dreams of many."
