After a restructuring at Viacom, Keith Cox\u2014who developed <em>Wife Swap<\/em> for CMT\u2014insisted the show move to Paramount so he could continue to oversee its programming after CMT was moved out of his purview.<\/p>\n<p>The reality format sees two families switch spouses and live under the other\u2019s rules for a week, before introducing their own ideas and beliefs into their new households. It originally aired on ABC from 2004 to 2010 and came back for a seventh season in 2013. The format is owned by Banijay Group and is produced by Banijay Studios North America.
