Hunt will also direct the first episode. Peter Tolan is set to be the showrunner, while Danny Jacobson\u2014who co-created the show with Reiser\u2014will serve as an executive consultant. The event series is slated to premiere in late 2019.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We are so excited to finally be doing this and thrilled to have Peter Tolan as our fearless captain,\u201d said Hunt and Reiser in a joint statement. \u201cWe promise you the same funny and heartwarming show\u2014as soon as we can remember what\u2019s funny about being older. It\u2019s going to be great!&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Katherine Pope, head of original content at Charter Communications, said: \u201cWe are beyond thrilled to team up with Sony Pictures Television to give <em>Mad About You<\/em> an exclusive home at Spectrum Originals. Two decades ago, fans fell in love with this show, and this time will be no different as Paul, Helen and Peter explore modern marriage through the eyes of two people who have just become empty-nesters. We can\u2019t wait for everyone to fall in love with the Buchmans all over again. &#8221;<\/p>\n<p>SPT President Jeff Frost and SPT Co-Presidents Chris Parnell and Jason Clodfelter, added: \u201cWe couldn\u2019t be more excited to work with Helen and Paul and to partner with Spectrum Originals and Katherine, to bring this acclaimed comedy back to life.
