The series will begin an eight-week run on both networks starting April 7 at 9 p.m., following BBC America and AMC\u2019s previously announced simulcast of <em>Killing Eve<\/em> at 8 p.m.<\/p>\n<p>Also, AMC has opened up a writers\u2019 room for<em> 61st Street<\/em>, a potential new AMC Studios\u2019 series from BAFTA winner Peter Moffat (<em>Criminal Justice<\/em>, <em>The Night Of<\/em>) as showrunner and executive producer. The series is to be executive produced by Michael B. Jordan\u2019s Outlier Society (<em>David Makes Man<\/em>). The project is being developed as part of AMC\u2019s scripts-to-series model, which opens writers\u2019 rooms to develop potential series that, in success, move straight to series. <em>61st Street<\/em> is set in present-day Chicago and follows Moses Johnson, a promising high school athlete, who is swept up into the infamously corrupt Chicago criminal justice system.<\/p>\n<p>SundanceTV and Sundance Now are venturing futher into the true-crime space with the launch of a podcast series hosted by Amanda Knox. The series, entitled The Truth About True Crime with Amanda Knox, will take a look at the true crimes that are chronicled in upcoming Sundance TV and Sundance Now documentary series <em>Ministry of Evil: The Twisted Cult of Tony Alamo<\/em>, <em>Killing for Lov<\/em>e, <em>The Preppie Murder: Death in Central Park<\/em> (working title) and <em>No One Saw a Thing<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>Several premiere dates were revealed, including for AMC&#8217;s<em> Into the Badlands<\/em>, which returns March 24 at 10 p.m., and <em>The Son<\/em>, which returns April 27 at 9 p.m. BBC America will launch a new season of <em>Top Gear<\/em> on April 25 at 9 p.m., while <em>Luther<\/em> heads into its highly anticipated new run on June 2 at 8 p.m. Over on IFC, <em>Brockmire<\/em> comes back on April 3 at 10 p.m. <em>Ministry of Evil: The Twisted Cult of Tony Alamo<\/em> debuts February 27 at 11 p.m. on SundanceTV. Also on the network, <em>Unspeakable<\/em> will get a two-night premiere starting April 4 and continuing on April 5. <em>The Name of the Rose<\/em>, based on Umberto Eco\u2019s highly acclaimed novel, premieres May 1 at 11 p.m.<\/p>\n<p>Production is now underway on AMC&#8217;s <em>The Terror: Infamy<\/em>, the second installment of the horror-infused anthology; <em>Lodge 49<\/em>, which is getting a ten-episode second season; and <em>Dispatches from Elsewhere<\/em>, an anthology series created by and starring Jason Segel. <em>Top Gear<\/em> season 27 began production on January 11 in the U.K., while <em>Doctor Who<\/em> began production on its second season with the new cast on January 21 in Cardiff. IFC&#8217;s <em>Year of the Rabbit<\/em> began production on its first season on January 7 in the U.K. IFC has also lined up <em>Sherman\u2019s Showcase<\/em>, a new musical variety sketch comedy show created, written and executive produced by Diallo Riddle (<em>Marlon<\/em>, <em>Rise<\/em>) and Bashir Salahuddin (<em>GLOW<\/em>, <em>Snatched<\/em>).<\/p>\n<p>Production has also begun on <em>Creepshow<\/em>, which marks the first long-form original series for AMC Networks\u2019 Shudder streaming service. Executive produced by <em>The Walking Dead<\/em> \u2019s Greg Nicotero, the horror series is based on the iconic 1982 anthology film written by Stephen King and directed by George A. Romero.<\/p>\n<p>BBC America revealed the return of two Emmy-winning and globally renowned series with <em>Planet Earth III<\/em> and <em>Frozen Planet II<\/em>.
