The National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences (NATAS) has named former Twitter exec Adam Sharp as its president and CEO.<\/p>\n

In his new position, Sharp will oversee the organization’s operations, including sales, promotion, marketing, financial management and planning of its various Emmy Award programs. He has been serving as the Academy\u2019s interim president and CEO since February 2018.<\/p>\n

Prior to this appointment, Sharp was the head of news, government and elections at Twitter. Earlier in his career, he worked for NBC and C-SPAN.<\/p>\n

\u201cAdam Sharp\u2019s story is truly a unique story of success,\u201d said Terry O\u2019Reilly, the chairman of NATAS. \u201cAdam\u2019s career in media began when he was awarded one of our very first National Scholarships, in 1996. In the two-plus decades that have passed\u2014through Adam\u2019s years with NBC News and C-SPAN, his tenure as deputy chief of staff for U.S. Senator Mary L. Landrieu (D-LA), and his role as head of news, government and elections at Twitter\u2014Adam developed the personal and professional acumen that makes him the ideal candidate to guide our iconic organization. I couldn\u2019t be more pleased by his appointment.\u201d<\/p>\n
