{"id":9126,"date":"2018-11-15T12:32:25","date_gmt":"2018-11-15T17:32:25","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/worldscreen.com\/tvusa\/fox-sports-expands-mlb-coverage-2028\/"},"modified":"2018-11-15T12:33:08","modified_gmt":"2018-11-15T17:33:08","slug":"fox-sports-expands-mlb-coverage-through-2028","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/worldscreen.com\/tvusa\/fox-sports-expands-mlb-coverage-through-2028\/","title":{"rendered":"FOX Sports Expands MLB Coverage Through 2028"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>FOX Sports has inked a new multiyear, multiplatform deal with Major League Baseball (MLB) to expand the channel&#8217;s TV, digital and Spanish-language rights for the next ten years.<\/p>\n<p>FOX Sports and FOX Deportes maintain the TV rights to MLB\u2019s jewel events, including serving as the exclusive TV broadcast partner of the World Series, one League Championship Series, two Division Series and the All-Star Game. The network\u2019s League Championship Series and Division Series coverage will remain the same as it\u2019s been since 2014. MLB Network will continue to have the rights to two games from the League\u2019s Division Series that FOX is airing. FOX Sports is also expanding its digital rights.<\/p>\n<p>FOX Sports is continuing its Saturday regular-season broadcast windows with highlights packages as well as MLB-centric programs and Spanish-language rights through FOX Deportes. Starting in 2022, the amount of regular season and postseason games aired by the FOX broadcast network will increase.<\/p>\n<p>In addition, the new agreement includes expanded streaming, social media and highlight rights. FOX will also broadcast special event games.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFOX Sports has been our national television partner for over 20 years and I could not be more pleased to announce the extension of our relationship through the 2028 season,\u201d said Baseball Commissioner Robert D. Their innovative presentation of Major League Baseball through game telecasts and special programming across all their platforms has helped strengthen and elevate our sport\u2019s popularity.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSince we began our historic partnership with Major League Baseball more than 20 years ago, MLB games on FOX have provided some of the most iconic moments in American sports,\u201d noted 21st Century Fox Executive Chairman Lachlan Murdoch. \u201cThis significant multiyear agreement not only cements FOX\u2019s role as Major League Baseball\u2019s number-one broadcast partner, it ensures that FOX will remain America\u2019s leader in live sports well into the future.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMajor League Baseball has been a cornerstone of FOX Sports since 1996,\u201d added FOX Sports CEO and Executive Producer Eric Shanks. \u201cIt\u2019s an honor to have shared countless historic moments with our viewers over the last 22 seasons.
