Common\u2019s additional film credits include starring roles in <em>Wanted<\/em> and <em>Selma<\/em>, for which he earned an Academy Award for the original song &#8220;Glory.&#8221; He received an Emmy for his music in Ava DuVernay\u2019s Oscar-nominated and Emmy-winning documentary <em>13th<\/em>. Common is currently starring in and executive producing the hit TV series <em>The Chi<\/em> on Showtime.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019re thrilled to have the talented multi-hyphenate Common join our television team along with his longtime manager and producing partner Derek Dudley, president of production Shelby Stone, and creative executive Melisa Resch,\u201d said Lionsgate&#8217;s executive VP and head of worldwide scripted television, Chris Selak. \u201cCommon\u2019s expertise from working across all different artistic platforms offers a rich and exciting creative vision to our group.
