{"id":8803,"date":"2018-06-19T12:38:21","date_gmt":"2018-06-19T16:38:21","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/worldscreen.com\/tvusa\/axs-tv-air-women-wrestling-series\/"},"modified":"2018-06-19T13:09:36","modified_gmt":"2018-06-19T17:09:36","slug":"axs-tv-air-women-wrestling-content","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/worldscreen.com\/tvusa\/axs-tv-air-women-wrestling-content\/","title":{"rendered":"AXS TV to Air Women of Wrestling Content"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>AXS TV has come on board to provide TV production, as well as cable, satellite and telco distribution, for the <em>WOW: Women of Wrestling <\/em>series and events in the U.S.<\/p>\n<p>Los Angeles Lakers owner Jeanie Buss; Mark Burnett, the president of MGM Television and Digital Group; and David McLane, who is behind the 1980s hit TV series <em>GLOW<\/em>, tapped AXS TV to bring <em>WOW<\/em> to a wider U.S. television audience. AXS TV will start recording WOW events in Los Angeles later this year, with broadcast slated to begin in early 2019.<\/p>\n<p>The <em>WOW Superhero<\/em> events are all-female pro-wrestling matches. AXS TV is a partnership between Mark Cuban, Anschutz Entertainment Group, TV and radio personality Ryan Seacrest, and talent firm Creative Artists Agency.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI knew of Jeanie\u2019s passion for elevating women\u2019s wrestling for several years, so when Mark Burnett told me what MGM Studios has planned for WOW, I decided to get involved,\u201d AXS TV Chairman and CEO Cuban said. \u201cAXS TV\u2019s long-term success inside the squared circle and broadcasting <em>New Japan Pro Wrestling<\/em> (<em>NJPW<\/em>) makes airing <em>WOW<\/em> a natural fit.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFortunately, I grew up knowing that the key to building a winner starts with teamwork,\u201d <em>WOW<\/em> owner Buss remarked. \u201cI\u2019m so thankful that Mark Burnett and his MGM Studios, and now Mark Cuban\u2019s AXS TV, are all part of our <em>WOW<\/em> team.
