{"id":8650,"date":"2018-04-06T01:00:23","date_gmt":"2018-04-06T05:00:23","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/worldscreen.com\/tvusa\/worldscreen.com\/"},"modified":"2018-04-06T01:30:01","modified_gmt":"2018-04-06T05:30:01","slug":"miptv-spotlight-twentieth-century-fox-television-distribution-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/worldscreen.com\/tvusa\/miptv-spotlight-twentieth-century-fox-television-distribution-2\/","title":{"rendered":"MIPTV Spotlight: Twentieth Century Fox Television Distribution"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Twentieth Century Fox Television Distribution has a handful of new dramas for MIPTV buyers this year and is looking forward to presenting such titles as\u00a0<em>Trust<\/em>, <em>9-1-1\u00a0<\/em>and <em>The Resident<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p><em>Trust\u00a0<\/em>looks at one of America\u2019s wealthiest families, the Gettys. \u201cEqual parts family history, dynastic saga and an examination of the corrosive power of money,\u00a0<em>Trust\u00a0<\/em>explores the complexities at the heart of every family, rich or poor,\u201d says Richard Samuels, the executive VP for the Asia Pacific and managing director of Twentieth Century Fox Television Distribution\u2019s Sydney office.<\/p>\n<p>The procedural drama <em>9-1-1\u00a0<\/em>explores the high-pressure experiences of police officers, paramedics and firefighters, while the medical drama <em>The Resident\u00a0<\/em>focuses on a young doctor\u2019s final years of training.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMIPTV is an opportunity to review the performance of our mid-season shows and provide updates on potential pilot pickups ahead of the L.A. Screenings,\u201d adds Samuels.<\/p>\n<p>The half-hour comedy <em>How I Met Your Mother\u00a0<\/em>ran for nine successful seasons in the U.S., and Twentieth Century Fox Television Distribution is making the format available to international buyers looking to localize the show.<\/p>\n<p>The company also offers format rights for the hit drama <em>Prison Break<\/em>. The comedy <em>The Mick\u00a0<\/em>already has two seasons under its belt in the U.S., and the format is available for licensing.<\/p>\n<p>Dorothy Crompton, the VP of format licensing at Twentieth Century Fox Television Distribution, says that the company\u2019s scripted formats \u201ccross borders to engage and resonate in each territory with the best in local storytelling.
