{"id":8446,"date":"2018-01-10T11:57:53","date_gmt":"2018-01-10T16:57:53","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/worldscreen.com\/tvusa\/global-road-first-look-deal-offspring-entertainment\/"},"modified":"2018-01-10T13:29:04","modified_gmt":"2018-01-10T18:29:04","slug":"global-road-in-first-look-deal-with-offspring-entertainment","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/worldscreen.com\/tvusa\/global-road-in-first-look-deal-with-offspring-entertainment\/","title":{"rendered":"Global Road in First-Look Deal with Offspring Entertainment"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Global Road Entertainment, previously known as IM Global, has entered into a first-look agreement with Adam Shankman and Jennifer Gibgot\u2019s Offspring Entertainment.<\/p>\n<p>The first two television projects to be developed under the deal are <em>Wolfgang<\/em> (formerly titled <em>Coda<\/em>)\u2014a series about Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart\u2014and an untitled comedy project with actor\/producers Carlos and Alexa PenaVega.<\/p>\n<p>Offspring&#8217;s Shankman and Gibgot have produced such hit movies as <em>Hairspray<\/em>, <em>The Last Song<\/em> and <em>Bedtime Stories<\/em>. The company is currently developing an untitled comedy script with Chuck Lorre, and <em>Undercover<\/em> with Mandeville Entertainment. Its show <em>Step Up: High Water<\/em>\u00a0will debut soon on YouTube Red.<\/p>\n<p>Mark Stern, Global Road\u2019s president of scripted television, remarked: \u201cWe\u2019ve wanted to work with Adam and Jennifer for a while. Their taste and breadth of development is a perfect fit for us, and using our entrepreneurial approach to television, we\u2019re hoping to produce some great things together. It\u2019s a partnership that\u2019s already bearing fruit with the comedy experience they\u2019re bringing to our PenaVega project and the international expertise we\u2019re bringing to their <em>Wolfgang<\/em> project.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Shankman and Gibgot added: &#8220;We couldn\u2019t be more thrilled to join the Global Road team. The projects we are developing are incredibly diverse, varied in scope and speak to the elevated tastes of audiences today.
