It expanded its on-demand library in 2017 to\u00a0more than 75,000 episodes of TV series across 1,700 titles, which is\u00a0more than twice the number of episodes available on any of the other leading streaming services. In 2017, Hulu\u2019s advertising revenue reached\u00a0$1 billion\u00a0for the first time in the company\u2019s history.<\/p>\n<p>\u201c2017 was a momentous year for Hulu,\u201d said CEO Randy Freer. \u201cWe took several major steps to become a 21st-century direct-to-consumer media company, evolving into both an aggressive SVOD business and a formidable new live TV provider. The year ahead is going to be even bigger, as the company invests more in content\u2014live, library and original\u2014as well as technology and data to make Hulu the leading pay-TV choice for consumers.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The\u00a0top three dramas on Hulu in 2017, based on hours watched, were\u00a0<em>Law &amp; Order: SVU<\/em>, <em>This Is Us<\/em>\u00a0and\u00a0<em>The Handmaid\u2019s Tale<\/em>.
