The offering is ad-supported and expected to have, on average, approximately half the advertising per programming hour as compared to traditional ad-supported linear TV.<\/p>\n<p>The Roku Channel will feature films such as\u00a0<em>Ali<\/em>, <em>The Karate Kid<\/em>, <em>Legally Blonde<\/em>\u00a0and many others from studios such as Lionsgate, Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer (MGM), Sony Pictures Entertainment and Warner Bros.\u00a0Publishers participating include American Classics, Fandor, FilmRise, Nosey, OVGuide, Popcornflix, Vidmark and YuYu, with others expected to be added over time.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019re always looking for ways to add value and make TV better for our customers,\u201d said Rob Holmes, the VP of programming at Roku. \u201cWith The Roku Channel, we\u2019re responding to consumer demand and helping content publishers deliver content through a new experience that makes finding free entertainment easy for our customers.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere is a tremendous opportunity for our content to be viewed on the Roku platform,\u201d added Danny Fisher, the CEO at FilmRise. \u201cNow with The Roku Channel launch, Roku is offering its customers even greater value by giving them free content while enabling publishers like us to benefit from simple discovery that drives greater engagement.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Roku has unveiled The Roku Channel, a new streaming channel on the platform specifically dedicated to giving customers free access to a collection of top films and more.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":350,"featured_media":8205,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":""},"categories":[69],"tags":[1329],"class_list":["post-8204","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","","category-top-stories","tag-roku"],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v21.7 -
