David Madden is stepping down from his role as the president of entertainment at FOX, with Michael Thorn taking over the post.<\/p>\n

Thorn will take on responsibility for scripted programming and development, as well as casting at the network. He will report to Fox Television Group Chairmen and CEOs Gary Newman and Dana Walden and will transition into his new role at the end of next month. Thorn had joined the studio seven years ago as senior VP of drama development and has since developed dozens of successful dramas and comedies during his tenure as executive VP of development. A replacement for him at Twentieth Century Fox Television will be named soon.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019ve worked with Michael for the past decade, and in terms of creative chops and leadership skills, he\u2019s one of the best,\u201d said Newman and Walden. \u201cHe\u2019s distinguished himself in our organization and in the creative community as an incredible executive who cares deeply about the work and our creative partners. As someone who\u2019s worked at the studio, a broadcast network and spent time as a producer, Michael\u2019s had the best possible training for this position. We\u2019re elated he\u2019ll be stepping into this expanded role.”<\/p>\n
