{"id":8073,"date":"2017-07-10T10:05:44","date_gmt":"2017-07-10T14:05:44","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/worldscreen.com\/tvusa\/new-kids-spanish-language-content-for-starz\/"},"modified":"2017-07-10T12:45:32","modified_gmt":"2017-07-10T16:45:32","slug":"new-kids-spanish-language-content-for-starz-app","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/worldscreen.com\/tvusa\/new-kids-spanish-language-content-for-starz-app\/","title":{"rendered":"New Content for Starz App &#038; On Demand"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Starz app and on-demand services have added a variety of new Spanish-language and children\u2019s programming to its library, including the hit animated shows <em>Bob the Builder<\/em> and <em>Thomas and Friends<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>The app offers such kids&#8217; titles as <em>Care Bears: Adventures in Care-a-Lot<\/em>, <em>The Adventures of Super Mario Bros. 3<\/em>, <em>Eloise, The Animated Series<\/em>, <em>Yu-Gi-Oh!<\/em>, <em>Inspector Gadget<\/em>, <em>The Adventures of Paddington Bear<\/em>, <em>Sonic the Hedgehog<\/em>, <em>Sabrina, The Animated Series<\/em> and <em>Now You Know<\/em>. It currently\u00a0has more than 1,100 children&#8217;s\u00a0series\u00a0episodes and movies available for download or streaming. By the end of the year, that amount\u00a0is expected to\u00a0surpass\u00a02,000 with the additions of <em>Alf<\/em>, <em>Speed Racer: The Next Generation<\/em>, <em>Kid Diners<\/em>\u00a0and <em>Zatch Bell!<\/em><\/p>\n<p>The Starz app has also added nearly 300 Spanish-language movies and telenovela episodes, including Colombia&#8217;s <em>El Cartel de los Sapos<\/em> and <em>La Promesa<\/em>. Spanish-languague programming\u00a0on the app is expected to reach more than 700 by year end with the additions of such movies as <em>I&#8217;m So Excited<\/em>, <em>Chico and Rita<\/em> and <em>No<\/em>, and novelas and kids&#8217; shows, including\u00a0<em>Exploradores de la Historia<\/em> and <em>Horacio y los Plasticines<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>By the end of 2017, Starz plans to grow its app\/OTT\/on-demand content offerings by approximately 40 percent to nearly 7,700 total selections, including more than 60 kids&#8217;
