{"id":7993,"date":"2017-05-18T11:10:25","date_gmt":"2017-05-18T15:10:25","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/worldscreen.com\/tvusa\/the-cw-moves-riverdale-jane-the-virgin-arrow\/"},"modified":"2017-05-18T13:50:13","modified_gmt":"2017-05-18T17:50:13","slug":"the-cw-moves-riverdale-jane-the-virgin-arrow","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/worldscreen.com\/tvusa\/the-cw-moves-riverdale-jane-the-virgin-arrow\/","title":{"rendered":"The CW Moves Riverdale, Jane the Virgin, Arrow"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The CW&#8217;s 2017-18 prime-time schedule sees <em>Riverdale<\/em> moving to a new night on Wednesdays, paired with the new <em>Dynasty<\/em> reboot.<\/p>\n<p><em>Supergirl<\/em> returns for its third season on Mondays at 8 p.m., followed by the new military drama <em>Valor<\/em>, starring Christina Ochoa and Matt Barr.<\/p>\n<p>Tuesdays once again see the pairing of <em>The Flash<\/em> and <em>DC&#8217;s Legends of Tomorrow<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p><em>Riverdale<\/em> moves to Wednesdays at 8 p.m. for its sophomore season, followed by <em>Dynasty<\/em>, a reimagining of the classic prime-time soap from executive producers Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage (<em>The O.C.<\/em>, <em>Gossip Girl<\/em>) and Sallie Patrick (<em>Revenge<\/em>).<\/p>\n<p><em>Supernatural<\/em> leads off Thursdays, which will now see <em>Arrow<\/em> in the 9 p.m. slot.<\/p>\n<p><em>Crazy Ex-Girlfriend<\/em> returns to Friday nights, though now at 8 p.m. The returning series will be paired with <em>Jane the Virgin<\/em> on its new night.<\/p>\n<p>For midseason, The CW has lined up <em>Black Lightning<\/em>, based on the characters from DC, and <em>Life Sentence<\/em>, starring Lucy Hale (<em>Pretty Little Liars<\/em>).<\/p>\n<p>Mark Pedowitz, the president of The CW, commented: &#8220;The CW has transformed over the past few years, from a linear network into a true multi-platform success. Whether it&#8217;s on broadcast, on VOD, OTT, digital, or mobile, we are reaching those viewers everywhere they are, with opportunities for our advertisers across every platform.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Next season we have four new scripted series, continuing our mission of adding more original programming to schedule all year long. In the fall, we have the action-packed new military drama\u00a0<em>Valor<\/em>, and a new version of the iconic soap\u00a0<em>Dynasty<\/em>, giving us two new female-focused series that add more balance to our prime-time lineup. For midseason, we have the heartwarming comedy\u00a0<em>Life Sentence<\/em>, starring Lucy Hale, a terrific actress; and we have the exciting new series\u00a0<em>Black Lightning<\/em>, based on the DC character. Next season, we will have our strongest schedule ever, with a broad range of series to appeal to both women and men, across a wide range of demographics.
