UNIVERSAL CITY: The beloved sitcom Will & Grace<\/em> will return to NBC for a ten-episode limited run during the 2017-18 season.<\/p>\n

Stars Eric McCormack, Debra Messing, Sean Hayes and Megan Mullally have all signed on, and original series creators Max Mutchnick and David Kohan will act as showrunners and executive producers.\u00a0James Burrows, who directed every episode of the show during its initial eight-year run, returns to direct and executive produce.<\/p>\n

Will & Grace<\/em> debuted in 1998 and went on to become the highest-rated sitcom in the 18-to-49 demo from 2001 to 2005. The show garnered an audience of more than 18 million viewers for its series finale in 2006.<\/p>\n

Universal Television will produce and distribute the new episodes.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019re thrilled that one of the smartest, funniest and most defining comedies in NBC history is coming back,\u201d said NBC Entertainment’s chairman, Robert Greenblatt. \u201cThis groundbreaking series for everything from gay rights to social and political commentary\u2014all disguised as a high-speed train of witty pop culture\u2014is coming back where it belongs.\u201d<\/p>\n

Jennifer Salke, the president of NBC Entertainment, added:\u00a0\u201cWe started talking with Mutchnick and Kohan about producing new episodes right after they shot the secret reunion show back in September, and the fact that all four of the original stars were excited about getting back into production is a testament to the joyful experience they had doing nearly 200 episodes for eight seasons.\u00a0Few things cut through the clutter these days, especially in comedy, and Will &\u00a0Grace<\/em> is one of the best.\u201d<\/p>\n
