MONTEREY: SNL Kagan reports that the U.S. cable, DTH and telco sectors lost a whopping 430,000 customers in the third quarter, bringing the year-to-date drop to 1.3 million.<\/p>\n
Cable operators shed 94,000 total video customers, the best Q3 performance for the sector since 2006. For the nine months through September 30, cable cut its 2015 decline in half.<\/p>\n
DTH, meanwhile, gained 46,000 subs and is on track for a positive year-end result.<\/p>\n
The wind-down of AT&T U-verse is impacting telco sub numbers, which fell 382,000 in the period.
