She will be charged with overseeing the development and production of all comedy pilots for ABC Entertainment.<\/p>\n<p>Hunter will report to Channing Dungey, the president of ABC Entertainment, who commented, \u201cAs one of our industry\u2019s most accomplished executives, Jamila has been instrumental in ABC\u2019s comedy resurgence. She brings a unique perspective to this important role, and I\u2019m thrilled to have her leading our efforts.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Hunter added: \u201cI\u2019m honored to join Channing\u2019s senior leadership team. Over the years our network has built a strong comedy brand featuring unique, culturally relevant shows. I\u2019m excited by this new opportunity and am looking forward to working with my talented colleagues at ABC as we continue this tradition.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Hunter was named VP of ABC Comedy in 2011. In that role, she oversaw the development and production of new sitcoms, working on projects ranging from the Emmy-nominated and Peabody Award-winning series <em>black-ish<\/em>, as well as <em>Fresh Off the Boat<\/em> and <em>The Real O\u2019Neals<\/em>.
