SUNNYVALE: Yahoo has unveiled the new service Yahoo View, a TV-watching site that will feature content from Hulu.

Hulu is discontinuing its free, ad-supported service, moving to a subscription-only model. The newly announced Yahoo View will host free, ad-supported TV episodes as Hulu once did. Yahoo View will offer viewers the ability to watch the last five episodes of ABC, NBC, FOX (eight days after original broadcast) and other network sitcoms, day-after clips, and full seasons of anime and Korean drama.

View.yahoo.com is immediately available in the U.S. today. Mobile web and mobile apps will be coming soon.

“Video is an important part of Yahoo’s strategy and we’re committed to delivering the best digital video content to our users. To date, we’ve streamed amazing experiences across sports, finance, and news,” added Phil Lynch, the VP and head of media partnerships at Yahoo. “This partnership with Hulu is a natural extension of that strategy, bringing the best of TV and entertainment content to our lifestyle vertical.”
