The Pop original series is inspired by McIntyre\u2019s life as a grownup boy-band member and actor who is seeking his next gig following New Kids on the Block\u2019s latest tour. McIntyre stars as a 43-year-old father of three who wants to be taken seriously as an actor.<\/p>\n<p>The eight-episode series is executive produced by McIntyre, Wahlberg, McCarthy, Tim Gibbons (<em>Curb Your Enthusiasm<\/em>), Paul Greenberg (<em>Best Time Ever with Neil Patrick Harris<\/em>) and Jenny Daly (<em>Storage Hunters<\/em>, <em>Hollywood and Football<\/em>). <em>The Joey Mac Project<\/em> is produced by T Group Productions.<\/p>\n<p>McIntyre commented: &#8220;I lucked out. What are the chances of me being cast as a character named Joey McIntyre? But in all seriousness, if you love to laugh, we have a comedy-gold team behind this project who has the secret sauce for funny TV\u2026.
