Matalas is known for his work on <em>Star Trek: Enterprise<\/em>,<em> Terra Nova<\/em> and <em>Nikita<\/em>. He first collaborated with UCP as co-creator and executive producer for the Syfy time-travel thriller <em>12 Monkeys<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>Dawn Olmstead, the executive VP of development at UCP, commented: \u201cTerry is a great writer and he&#8217;s everything you want in a showrunner. He loves big ideas, writes amazing characters and always surprises us where he takes them. We look forward to many more projects with Terry in the future. We\u2019re lucky to be working with him.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Richard Rothstein, the executive VP of current programming at UCP, added: \u201cIt has been a real thrill for us to see Terry emerge as a visionary showrunner on <em>12 Monkeys<\/em>. Episode after episode he raises the creative bar and we\u2019re incredibly excited to expand his relationship with the UCP family even further.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Matalas remarked: &#8220;For the last three years, Universal Cable Productions have been incredible creative partners and there is nowhere else I&#8217;d rather call home.
