PASADENA: TV Land has placed a pair of comedy orders, for a third season of Younger<\/em> from Darren Star and a pilot from Melissa McCarthy and Ben Falcone.<\/p>\n

Younger<\/em> is returning for a 12-episode third season starring Sutton Foster, Hilary Duff, Debi Mazar, Nico Tortorella, Miriam Shor, Molly Bernard, Peter Hermann and Dan Amboyer. The sophomore season of the show is\u00a0premiering next Wednesday, January 13, at 10 p.m. with back-to-back episodes. Foster stars as a 40-year-old woman who pretends she’s 26 in order to land a job in publishing.<\/p>\n

“Younger<\/em> was a critical success and fan favorite right out of the gate, and Darren Star and his team of writers have brought an even sexier, shocking sophomore season to the table,” said Keith Cox, the executive VP of development and original programming at TV Land. “We’re thrilled with the show and what it’s done for the network, and we’re so confident in our viewers’ passion for it. We’re excited for our audience to see season two and beyond.”<\/p>\n

The cable network has signed on for a pilot of Nobodies<\/em>, starring, executive produced and written by Hugh Davidson, Larry Dorf and Rachel Ramras, alums of the improvisational and sketch comedy company The Groundlings. Nobodies<\/em> is also executive produced by Melissa McCarthy and Ben Falcone through their production company On The Day. The pilot is based on the real-life experiences of Davidson, Dorf and Ramras and will follow the trio, portraying themselves, as they watch other Groundlings alums go on to make it big in Hollywood while they struggle to make a name for themselves. The pilot will shoot in Los Angeles this winter, with McCarthy and Falcone directing. Falcone will appear in the pilot, and McCarthy is slated to guest star in a future episode if the pilot goes to series.<\/p>\n

“Hugh, Larry and Rachel tell stories that are so funny, you honestly can’t believe they’re true,” Cox remarked. “It’s their unique take on exactly what it’s like toiling away in Hollywood\u2014and it is that unfiltered comedy that we’re looking for.”<\/p>\n

Other projects currently in development for TV Land include a pilot titled I Shudder<\/em> from Dan Jinks and Paul Rudnick and an untitled John Wells\/John Riggi\/Warner Horizon Television concept inspired by the life of Kyle Richards.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
