\n\tNEW YORK\/SEATTLE: Paul G. Allen's Vulcan Productions and Morgan Spurlock's Cinelan are collaborating on the production and distribution of 20 short films focused on the U.S. economy.<\/p>\n
\n\tThe films are meant to help viewers better understand America's economic policies. They will feature commentary from such financial experts as John Steele Gordon, author of An Empire of Wealth<\/em>, and Dean Baker, co-founder of the Center for Economic and Policy Research. Contributing filmmakers include Catherine Hardwicke (Twilight<\/em>), Mary Harron (American Psycho<\/em>), Akiva Goldsman (Winter's Tale<\/em>), Spurlock (Super Size Me<\/em>) and Jessica Yu (Grey's Anatomy<\/em>).<\/p>\n \n\tA multiplatform simultaneous premiere is slated for the fall. Day-and-date distribution will include online, VOD, broadcast and mobile. A related educational curriculum will be provided to schools around the country in conjunction with the release of the film series, which will be promoted with a cross-platform marketing campaign, social media, as well as major market press, festival and university screenings.<\/p>\n \n\tCarole Tomko, the creative director and general manager of Vulcan Productions, stated: "We are delighted to be partnering with Morgan Spurlock and his team at Cinelan on a project of such substance.
