\n\tLOS ANGELES: While there were plenty of new faces among the winners of the Primetime Emmy Awards, the night did have its fare share of repeats, with Homeland<\/em>'s Claire Danes<\/a> winning for lead actress in a drama, Modern Family <\/em>taking the top comedy win and Breaking Bad <\/em>scoring the best drama nod.<\/p>\n

\n\tDanes took home her second Primetime Emmy for the role of Carrie Mathison in the hit Showtime drama Homeland<\/em>. Jeff Daniels won for the best actor for his role as Will McAvoy in The Newsroom<\/em>. Outstanding supporting actor in a drama went to Bobby Cannavale for Boardwalk Empire<\/em> and supporting actress in a drama was Anna Gunn for Breaking Bad<\/em>. The hit AMC series, which is one episode away from ending its series run, also took the big win for best drama. Homeland <\/em>won for outstanding writing for a drama, and Netflix's House of Cards <\/em>won for outstanding directing in the category.<\/p>\n

\n\tModern Family <\/em>was dubbed best comedy. Veep<\/em>'s Julia Louis-Dreyfus took the comedic actress Emmy last night, while The Big Bang Theory<\/em>'s Jim Parsons was named best actor in a comedy. The supporting nods went to Merritt Wever for Nurse Jackie <\/em>and Tony Hale for Veep<\/em>. Outstanding writing for a comedy went to 30 Rock<\/em>, and outstanding directing to Modern Family<\/em>.<\/p>\n

\n\tIn the mini-series or movie category, lead actress went to Laura Linney for The Big C: Hereafter<\/em> and lead actor to Michael Douglas for Behind the Candelabra<\/em>. Supporting performance Emmys went to Ellen Burstyn for Political Animals <\/em>and James Cromwell for American Horror Story: Asylum<\/em>. Behind the Candelabra <\/em>won the big win in the category. Outstanding writing for mini-series or movie went to The Hour <\/em>and directing went to Behind the Candelabra<\/em>.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe Voice <\/em>won for outstanding reality competition program. Outstanding variety series was The Colbert Report<\/em>.<\/p>\n
