\n\tLOS ANGELES: MarVista Entertainment has scored the international distribution rights for seven new TV movies and a limited sci-fi action series.<\/p>\n
\n\tA Family Reunion <\/em>(also known as Banner 4th of July<\/em>) is produced by Muse Entertainment. It made its world premiere this summer on Hallmark Channel in the U.S. The TV movie is about three siblings, who are former members of a superstar band, who come together after 15 years to play a charity event to save their hometown.<\/p>\n \n\tAlso from Muse, the holiday-themed Christmas with Tucker <\/em>is scheduled to air on Hallmark Channel in the U.S. this holiday season. The telefilm is based on the book of the same name, about a young man’s love for his dog, his family and their farm as his struggles with the loss of his father and the responsibilities that come with adulthood.<\/p>\n \n\tHeart of the Country <\/em>was released on DVD by Twentieth Century Fox this fall. The TV movie is based on a novel by Rene Gutteridge. Final Recourse <\/em>is a suspenseful thriller acquired from Edell Film Fund One. It stars Teri Polo (Meet the Parents, Meet the Fockers<\/em>), Chazz Palminteri (The Usual Suspects, Rizzoli & Isles<\/em>) and Tia Carrere (True Lies, Wayne’s World<\/em>).<\/p>\n \n\tAlso acquired for the company’s catalogue is 1,000 to 1<\/em>, which chronicles the inspirational true story of a promising college basketball player who suffered a stroke that would destroy his dreams. Capping off the telefilms is 1 Chance 2 Dance<\/em>, which is about a 17-year-old aspiring dancer who has one last shot to make her dreams come true.<\/p>\n \n\tMarVista also picked up the limited science-fiction\/action series Dark Rising: Warrior of Worlds<\/em>. This is the latest installment in the Dark Rising <\/em>franchise from Canada’s Walk Films.<\/p>\n \n\t“Dramatic telefilms appeal to a broad demographic group and are at the top of most international program buyers’ shopping lists, so the Hallmark Channel titles are always very popular,” said Fernando Szew, the CEO of MarVista Entertainment. “And there is always strong demand for the hybrid science-fiction and action series, especially those series that are part of a larger franchise.
