{"id":5002,"date":"2013-06-11T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2013-06-11T00:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/worldscreen.com\/tvusa\/2013\/06\/11\/report-tv-everywhere-ups-value-of-pay-tv-services\/"},"modified":"2013-06-11T00:00:00","modified_gmt":"2013-06-11T00:00:00","slug":"report-tv-everywhere-ups-value-of-pay-tv-services","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/worldscreen.com\/tvusa\/report-tv-everywhere-ups-value-of-pay-tv-services\/","title":{"rendered":"Report: TV Everywhere Ups Value of Pay-TV Services"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-size: small\"><span style=\"font-family: Verdana\">NEW&nbsp;YORK\/WASHINGTON, D.C.: At the NCTA Cable Show, premium network EPIX unveiled new research showing that customers who can access content on multiple platforms attach more value to their pay-TV subscription than those watching solely through a television set.<br \/>\n<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: small\"><span style=\"font-family: Verdana\">EPIX commissioned Hub Entertainment Research to conduct the study, which surveyed 1,936 viewers aged 16 to 64 with a broadband connection in the home.<br \/>\n<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: small\"><span style=\"font-family: Verdana\">For subscribers who watch content on TV plus three additional devices, 71 percent said pay TV is an &ldquo;excellent\/good&rdquo; value; this rises to 88 percent among those watching on TV&nbsp;plus four or more devices. With customers watching on TV&nbsp;only, just 48 percent said they were getting &ldquo;excellent\/good&rdquo; value from their pay-TV subscription.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: small\"><span style=\"font-family: Verdana\">The survey also indicated that multiplatform viewing enhances the value that subscribers attribute to EPIX. Of subscribers watching EPIX solely on TV, 62 percent are satisfied with the service, while 80 percent of customers watching on two or three devices are satisfied. The highest levels of satisfaction&mdash;94 percent&mdash;come from EPIX subscribers who access the network&rsquo;s content on four or more devices.<br \/>\n<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: small\"><span style=\"font-family: Verdana\">&ldquo;The results of this study illustrate the high value consumers are placing on multiplatform viewing and underscores the importance of delivering superior content along with the ability to make it available to consumers at their convenience on any platform,&rdquo; said Nora Ryan, chief of staff for EPIX. &ldquo;As the entertainment viewing experience evolves, consumers are making new choices about how they want to consume content and forming new habits that include the desire to watch movies and TV shows anytime, anywhere and on multiple platforms. Flexibility is really important in the delivery and packaging of programming services and those distributors who recognize this will be able to increase the satisfaction levels of their customers.
